Solstice Scents Yule Reviews

I bought the sample pack of the perfume oils.

Gingerbread Man

In bottle:  Mostly vanilla

Wet on skin:  Whoa, this is pretty sharp….almost smoky it’s so spicy and sharp.

Dry on skin:  This is very sharp and spicy.    I am not getting any vanilla anymore.  It’s like if you stuffed your face in a jar of ground allspice.   I like it and I think it would be amazing layered with marshmallow.

Roasted Chestnuts & Marshmallows

In bottle:  Sweet, sugary and marshmallow goodness.

Wet on skin:  Yum, marshmallow!   Warm, gooey marshmallow.

Dry on skin:  Still mostly marshmallow.  I think this would be amazing layered with Gingerbread man.

Russian Caravan

In bottle:  Medicinal and reminiscent of the dentists office.

Wet on skin:  Dentists office with a camp fire inside.  It smells a bit plastic on me.

Dry on skin:  This never settles into something into something I like.  It’s smoky, medicinal and still very Eau De Dentist Office to me.

Gingerbread & Vanilla Cream

In bottle:  Vanilla and creamy.

Wet on skin:  Vanilla and spice with the spice taking over at this point.

Dry on skin:  Yum, I really like this.  It’s a nice balance of sweet and spicy.

Bayberry

In bottle:  Green and…..bayberry-ish!  Definitely smells like the holidays.

Wet on skin:  Still green and bayberries….a little more evergreen now, very foresty.

Dry on skin:  This softens a little bit as it dries but stay pretty true to it name.   Also slightly reminds me of BPAL’s Yule Cat.  It would make a very pretty room scent.

Spiked Nog & Nutmeg

In bottle:  Smells like the eggnog flavored syrups they use to make lattes.

Wet on skin:  Egnoggy for sure!  And it’s got something that makes it slightly soft and pretty.    The spice is very light.

Dry on skin:  This has a bit of a drier smell to it now if that makes sense.  It’s really, really pretty and I think I’ll be getting a bottle of this.   It’s foody but not overpoweringly so.

Rice Pudding & Rum Soaked Raisins

In bottle:  Buttery.

Wet on skin:  It definitely smells like rice pudding!   A little boozy.

Dry on skin:  Now I can smell the rum and raisins.    It softens it a little bit.   This is a little too buttery for me and it’s a fairly heavy scent but it’s still pretty.  I’d be more likely to use this as a room scent.
