I was lucky enough to receive my NA/VA package today…yay! There are a *lot* of really delicious smelling oils in this package and I’m not sure I’ll be able to pick a favorite. Heck, I’m not even sure I’ll be able to decide which one to wear tomorrow! What follows is a giant review post of DOOM!
TRIBE HORUS:Sensual Ambre resin from Nepal, Patchouli, Creamy Bavarian Cardamom, Nokturne:Sapphire Absolute (aged 2 years), Vanilla Incense and Musk.
In bottle: Musk with a little bit of citrusy incense.
Wet on skin: Mostly musk and incense with something a little soft hovering in the background…maybe the creamy cardamom?
Dry on skin: The musk and incense have softened considerably. I can definitely pick out the creamy cardamom and delicious Sapphire knocking on the door.
Verdict: This is amazing, and I mean drop dead gorgeous. I’ve tried cardamom from other companies and found it nauseated me. Literally. Well, I’m not getting any of that here. In fact I’m in love with this oil. It’s fabulous.
Cities Of Light: San Francisco~FEx
Spun Sugar, Cotton Candy Accord, Apricot Crème, Vanilla Musk of Crystal, New Zealand Kanuka Wood Raw, White Pepper and drop of RA’s Amber Absolute.
In bottle: Sweet and candy like.
Wet on skin: Yum, cotton candy goodness. Like the midway at a fair.
Dry on skin: I can smell the sugar and cotton candy accord. It’s sweet whiffs of the white pepper and Kanuka wood keep it from being too girly and sweet. It’s sexy….really, really sexy.
Verdict: OMG….this is heaven. Absolute perfection and I seriously just can’t get enough of it. I’ve been slathering and huffing my arm ever since I put it on. I need moar!
Bastet’s Choco Apricot X~FEx
Reinvented from a NAlentine scent from 2009, Bastet has been playing with special apricot notes and wanted to amplify this recipe with a new breath of life, by X’ing it with Vanilla of Kobalt, Crystal, Crystalline, Tunisian Vanilla Bean and French Vanilla. Apricots dipped in Sun Honey, Chocolate and Cocoa with a tiny touch of Chocolate fudge bring this perfume to life. NAlentine may be over, but Love is every day when we least expect it. Purrrrrrrr.
In bottle: Delicious sweet but not cloying chocolate.
Wet on skin: Umm, it’s got an undercurrent of something spicy peeking out.
Dry on skin: Soft and sexy chocolate and apricot with just a touch of something……floral?
Verdict: SO super happy that I scored a bottle of this. I think it’s going to age really well. This was a 15 hour limited edition and is no longer available. If you belonged to the NA Review forum you could have scored it!
Rich Egyptian Cherry Essence, creme of Vanilla Bean, Nokturne:Santalum and a soft stirring of exotic Cacao. A delicious way to be present and conquer the day with the sleek and sly feline stature of a Goddess.
In bottle: Cherry deliciousness!
Wet on skin: OMG, I’m swooning. This is scrumptious cherry with just a hint of cacao.
Dry on skin: Wow, this has settled down into a drop dead sexy scent. The cherry, cacao and vanilla cream blend perfectly and I can’t wait to wear this every day. Every day!
Verdict: I’m so very glad that I bought a bottle of this unsniffed. It’s perfection in a bottle. This is a general catalog scent.
Tribe: Sekhmet: Egyptian Dragon’s Blood Resin, Pomegranate Seed, Eternal Ankh: Spice (Vanilla, Spice, Musk) and Nokturne:Crystalline
In bottle: Pomegranate.
Wet on skin: This is bright and ‘red’ in scent if that makes sense! It’s slightly spicy and reminds me a bit of a spicy floral. Red carnation maybe?
Dry on skin: This is refreshing for a resinous scent. I think I can smell the Dragon’s Blood and I like it. It’s a crisp and bright and refreshing which I wasn’t expecting. I swear I can smell a little bit of apple in there.
Verdict: I think this is the first blend with Dragon’s Blood that I’ve liked. I want to let this age a little bit and see what happens. I bet it’ll get even better!
Eternal Alexandria Dark-Allspice with Black Rose Petals floating simply, Black Pine Incense, NA Sand Note (Papyrus, Vellum and Amber Oils), Nokturne:Crimson, White Amber, Nokturne:Sapphire (Egyptian Amber Musk) and just a few drops of Egyptian Organic Cardamom and Arabian Organic Driftwood Essence. A dark evening scent. Allow the shadowing spices to build and rebuild layered scent on your skin. Initial scent will never be the perfume it was intended.
In bottle: Pine!
Wet on skin: Spicy rose? It’s a little herbal and fresh. Fairly sharp at this point.
Dry on skin: It’s taking on a powdery note….maybe that’s the sand? I think I can smell the Sapphire peeking out at the very end.
Verdict: I think this may be the first rose scent that I can wear! The spice, sand and musk soften it just enough for me. I love it and am glad I bought a bottle. I’ve really enjoyed all the the Dark Eternals so far. I have a feeling this will get even better with age!

Apricot Kobalt-African Apricot, Apricot Cream, Vanilla Cream, Nokturne:Kobalt. A delicious way to spend an afternoon. Purrrrrrrrrr.
In bottle: Apricot and musk maybe?
Wet on skin: Very fruity. I can definitely smell the apricot and the cream.
Dry on skin: This has settled in to a really soft and creamy scent. It’s not fruity in a little girl kind of way. Very grown up and pretty.

Strawberry Crystalline-Nile Fresh Strawberry delicately balanced in a blend of Red Apple and soft Pink Jasmine notes poured over by the essence of Nokturne:Crystalline and the pureness of the stigma of a Vanilla Orchid.
In bottle: Strawberry and something slightly floral?
Wet on skin: Soft strawberry preserves. Delicious.
Dry on skin: This is still very strawberry but nice pretty strawberry and not cloying in any way. It’s softened with the red apple, vanilla and orchid.
Verdict: Delicious! I’m so glad I got to try this. If you love strawberry go out and buy this now!

Honeysuckle Crystalline-Egyptian Honeysuckle, Blue European Honeysuckle, White Japanese Honeysuckle crystal still in the arms of Egyptian Vanilla breath (Nokturne:Crystalline). A moment set aside just for you only.
In bottle: Wow, it totally smells like honeysuckle!
Wet on skin: Very floral and green with just a touch of vanilla.
Dry on skin: I’m thinking this may be a floral that doesn’t work for me…like most are.
Verdict: This is a really gorgeous oil it is just a little too floral for me.

Nokturne: Dark-The essence of Nokturne is the basis of this dark delight. Taking the essence of Nocturne Alchemy and their classic Egyptian Musk and revisiting this perfume, Jacek takes the bond and creates the shadow realm of the beauty within it. A drop of black amber drifts through the Nokturne like the buzz of a bee, Red Musk wisps a sexual charge as it breaks free from time to time and then stings the Nokturne like a scorpions tail against it. Entinced by a few drops of pure Egyptian Black Peppercorn essential oil, “This is the third ‘dark’ Nokturne that I have embraced. This was always a Nokturne I wanted to understand, a perfume that runs so deep under the Nocturne Alchemy feel of Egyptian perfume. I had to go to the Underworld of that feeling and appreciate the darkness that was below the surface and evoke my own mark and shadow. Upon many a late evening blending near to the sun rise of San Francisco, this was the one I chose at the heart of a Dark Nokturne.
In bottle: Musk!
Wet on skin: Oh yeah, that’s the wonderful musk that we’ve come to love from NA/VA. It definitely smells dark and maybe a bit…..naughty? Perhaps that’s the red musk.
Dry on skin: This really amps quite a bit at first and then settles right in for a serious evening on the town. I mean serious as in expensive drinks, lots of skin and a coy glance from across the room. It’s drop dead sexy and dark and gorgeous.
Verdict: I’m so glad I got a bottle of this and can’t wait to see how it ages! This is no longer available but if you belonged to the NA/VA reviews forum you could have scored some!
