Violette Market Diablo Canyon 2012 Reviews

I received my Violette Market order including two bottles from the Diablo Canyon 2012 LE.    I think I chose well because so far I’ve liked them both upon bottle sniffing.

Chocolate Mallow Pumpkins:  Dark chocolate, cocoa absolute, plump pumpkin, gooey vanilla marshmallow and golden amber dust.

In bottle:  It smells a little bit like chocolate liqueur.

Wet on skin:  I definitely get the various chocolates and cocoa as well as the marshmallow.  The vanilla appears and it’s rich and heavy and a little toasty.

Dry on skin:  As it’s dried down it smells like very expensive dark hot chocolate with vanilla marshmalllows melted on top and a dusting of amber.

Verdict:  Hey, what do you know it’s the first pumpkin scent that has worked for me!  I’ve always been so bummed because most pumpkin scents are loaded with spice and I end up smelling like a craft store.

Pink Fire Pumpkin:  Hard to transport and even more difficult to catch, but no need for candles! Extinguishes itself naturally at sunrise on the morning of November 1st. Pumpkin flesh, pink carnation, and a pinch of clove dust.

In bottle:   Carnation, slightly shampoo like.

Wet on skin:  Ummm, spicy warm floral.  Like a super spice carnation up very close.  So spicy that it’s a little almost menthol smelling.   I guess that’s the ‘fire’!

Dry on skin:  This has settled down into a really grown up and firey floral blend.   I pick up on all three of the listed noted but they are blended together quite beautifully.

Verdict:  Yay, another pumpkin scent I can wear!
