Arcana The Prynne Collection Part 2 Reviews

Now that all The Rhinestone Housewife anniversary sales orders are packed up and ready to be dropped off at the post office, I thought I take a couple of moments to review the second part of the Arcana Prynne Collection!  These are available while supplies last!

Cocquette – A flirty blend of honeyed strawberries, pink cotton candy, Tahitian vanilla, French cognac absolute, and balsam of Peru.

In bottle:  Sweet pink candy!

Wet on skin:  It’s a bloom of pink strawberry right at first followed closely by the tropical vanilla.

Dry on skin:  The strawberry is soft and the sweet cotton candy is definitely giving this a pink vibe.   The cognac and balsam of Peru and just quietly hovering around the edges, lightly grounding the cloud of pink fluffiness.  It’s a delightful fluffy pink cloud!

Verdict:  If you like ‘pink’ or ‘sugar’ scents or anything with a sweet candy vibe, this will be right up your alley.  Personally, I’ve love to see what this is like layered with something like black coconut or patchouli.

Fancy Boy – So indulged! A slice of warm bread smothered in golden honey, white chocolate, almond bits, and rich vanilla.

In Bottle: Chocolate and vanilla.

Wet on Skin:  At  first it’s all white chocolate and almond, with a slight whiff of honey.

Dry on Skin:  The warm bread note has appeared and it’s added a really beautiful ‘warm’ feeling.  The vanilla is deep but rich and soft, while the chocolate and almond has settled down.  The honey ties the whole blend together.  At the very end the chocolate and honey ramp up and it’s delightful.

Verdict:  A chocolate blend that manages to be not too foody or cloying.   It’s really nice!

Floozy – Silky opium smoked with boozy amber, dark vanilla, and sandalwood.

In bottle:  Smokey and resinous

Wet on skin:  This blend is all silky smoked opium right from the get go!  The boozy amber and vanilla saunter in and tangle with the opium.

Dry on skin:  As it’s dried down, the sandalwood has made an appearance and it’s particularly lovely with the dark vanilla. These two notes really help to richen up the smoked opium and amber.

Verdict: If you like smokey blends or resins of any kind you might enjoy this.  The dark vanilla adds a warmth and depth that isn’t foody in any way.

Tramp – Red roses, worn leather, blood cedar, oudh, and 3 trampy musks.

In bottle:  Soft rose and light leather.

Wet on skin:   A very soft leather with a soft wood, which I expect is the blood cedar. The leather really does smell worn and not sharp at all.

Dry on skin:  The rose has amped a bit and it’s like completely couched in the swirling oudh and the musks.  The musks aren’t pungent but warm with a lot of depth and they are perfect with the earthy wood.

Verdict:  Surprise!  I liked this more than I thought I would.   If you’re into rose and leather than this might be a good choice for you.  Normally I amp leather notes to the point of it overpowering everything else but this blend doesn’t do that for me.
