So, if you are mesmerized by all the sparkle and color, you can check them all out!
Boylesque – Considered part of the Neo-Burlesque revival, boylesque is the term used to describe male performers in burlesque. While boylesque was not invented in Seattle, Seattle enjoys a vast variety of talented performers. This color is a soft khaki green with warm brown undertones and it applies like a dream. It’s both masculine and feminine at the same time, with a light green shimmer and flawlessly smooth minky finish.
Burly-Q – A nickname many performers use for burlesque. Burly-Q the nail color, starts with a stunning jungle-green base and contains scattered multi-sized opalescent glitter in shades of blues and lime greens. There is a multitude of green/blue and turquoise holographic micro glitter. It’s also lightly sprinkled with subtle pink/purple sparks, giving the jelly polish an astonishing depth. The squishy teal base is perfect for yielding to each of the fine elements; truly dimensional! Opaque in 2-3 coats and 3,2, Oh! top coat is recommended for a smooth, glossy finish.
Glitter Lips – Red. Sparkly. Glamorous. A prerequisite of stage, the sexy look of red glitter lips is one of the most recognized elements of burlesque. Glitter Lips is a bright candy apple nail color with shades of scarlet, maroon, crimson and vermilion red micro glitter. This gorgeous red has a scattered holographic finish that works perfectly with it’s cranberry jelly-type base. Opacity is reached in 2-3 coats and top coat is recommended. If a pink glitter shade is more up your alley, see Glitter Lips’ glorious cousin The Rhinestone Housewife!
Hottie McNaughty – A local Seattle performer, Hottie has been described as the love child of Bugs Bunny and Carol Burnett. Hottie was known for using humor and ‘giving good face’ in her performances and performing to odd and unique music. One of her signature stage colors being orange, the polish made to represent her started with a fire-y tangerine base semi-creme base. It’s scattered with orange and contrasting purple iridescent glitter ranging from medium to large sizes. The more subtle elements include blue, orange and gold microglitter shimmers, giving this crelly (creme-jelly) a fantastically cheerful finish.
Lost a Pastie! – Equal parts titillating and horror inducing, losing a pastie happens. You never know when or where but it strikes terror in the hearts of club owners in the Seattle area due to liquor laws. Lost a Pastie the polish, is a marvelous interpretation of nude encrusted with Swarovski crystal. It’s packed with holographic silver and gold glitter that appeals to the sparkle fanatic in all of us. It also contains a range of ultra-luminous orange, pink, teal and purple opalescent glitters. The nude polish base contains a light blue flash that subtly complements the abundant glitter effects, and creates a truly exhilarating finish.
Neo-Burlesque – Neo-Burlesque is the revival of burlesque performance. Though based on the traditional Burlesque art, the new form encompasses a wider range of performance and neo-burlesque acts can range from classic striptease to modern dance to comedic and witty parody. For 2018 color of the year, Neo-Burlesque was created with an ultra-violet purple base and packed with gold/copper chrome micro-flecks. Scattered throughout is an ultra-fine holographic dust and electric blue flecks. The finish is smooth as butter and in the direct sun, you’ll see a beautiful linear holographic effect.
Pink Door – Whether triple, colored or hidden, burlesque performances happen behind many different doors in the Seattle area. Every collection needs a soft pink hue and this one fits the bill as perfectly as the ballet pink slipper it was inspired by. Soothing and pleasant, Pink Door has a true creme finish and is opaque in 1-2 coats.
Show At Midnight – Burlesque being a slightly subversive form of entertainment, frequently shows were speak easy style and later in the evening. A salute to the midnight hour, this polish is a shimmering, deep navy with scattered holographic glitter and an ever-so-subtle lapis blue sparkle. It’s everything you’d imagine when envisioning the dimensionally deep sky and tiny far-off galaxies, this incredible space blue is opaque in 2 coats.
Stage Kitten – This is the term used for the stage assistants that are responsible for gathering the performers garments after they strip out of them. The true unsung heroes of burlesque! Stage Kitten is a warm taupe, almost leaning mauve. The color looks as soft as a kitten and it’s finish is a rich true creme, similar to the color of a perfect vanilla latte. Opacity is easily reached in 2 coats.
The Rhinestone Housewife – A tagline given to Hottie McNaughty, it embodies everything that Hottie stood for. A sparkly house with a quirky gem-of-a-hostess. This raspberry color is the pink cousin of our luscious red Glitter Lips polish. It sparkles and shimmers with facets just like that of it’s namesake. Silver sparks with a chrome effects are scattered in with copious amounts of pink holographic microglitter in shades of magenta, punchy pink strawberry and bubblegum. This mouthwatering shade is a must-have for pink polish lovers.
